Louis P LaBarber
Dr. LaBarber is the Founder of Psychotherapy Associates of Niagara (1992) and is now retired. He earned his MSW in 1975 and his PhD in Counseling Psychology/Counselor Education in 1979 from St Louis University. He is a licensed Clinical Social Work Psychotherapist in New York and Nevada. Dr. LaBarber was previously Department Chair of the Social Work program at Niagara University where he served as an Associate Professor. He served on the Medical School faculty as a Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine and Director of Behavioral Science at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St Louis, Missouri and at the Niagara Falls Memorial Family Practice Residency program. During his decades long career he cared for a full spectrum of mental health problems including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, grief and loss issues, chronic illness, relationship issues, trauma, personality disorders, and sexual dysfunction. He trained, taught and mentored therapists, and he established this practice to ensure folks of all walks of life in this community would have access to excellent care in a warm, professional setting. We are honored to continue his legacy.
